How To Easily Back Up Every Email and Contact You have in MS Outlook
It's not easy to know the best way to back up your Outlook, beside the obvious back up Option in Outlook, so I found an easy way to back up and file share so I have everything the same on all my computers...because I'm always thinking the Burning Question is what if my hard drive crashed.
There is of Course an in expensive Back up Program Called Drop Box, where you can and should Back up all your Outlook Contacts and Email (in your inbox and sent Files).
Karen George(we miss you Karen) wrote a post about this in October 2007 and you may want to read her Post "A Must Read for Microsoft Outlook Users", and book mark it for future reference.
In February this year I wrote a post on Drop Box, which is a inexpensive and easy way to share and back up your files to one of your other computers...no need for Memory sticks,CD's or DVD's to Copy your computer files you use daily to your other Computer(s) at home or at the office.
So here Goes...Good Luck :O)
1. On the File menu, click "Import And Export".
2. Click Export To File, and then click Next.
3. Choose Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.
4. Click the folder that you want to export the .pst file to, and then click Next.
5. Click the Browse button, and then select the location to save the .pst file. (I always save back-up files like this in very obvious places, like "My Documents in My Drop Box."
6. In the File Name box, type a descriptive file name for the .pst file, and then click "OK". (I would humbly suggest that if you are backing up today- for example- you title the file something like Outlook_Backup_10_05_07.pst That way, if you collect a few of these over time, you can easily see which one is your most recent.)
