As 2009 draws to a close....... I thought I would review the Real Estate activities of the Mincipality of Victoria, an area know by the locals as Rockland in Fairfield, an area bordered by Fort St and Oak Bay Ave to the North, Richardson to the South and Richmond Road to the East and Moss Street to the West.
Single Family Sales since January in Fairfield Total 27 with an 2009 year to date Average Selling Price of $1,109,974 with an average of 50 days on the market.
Rockland Single Family Pending Sales Total 3 with an average selling price of $ 797,133 with an average of 89 days on the market.
It would appear Rockland Single Family Real Estate sale prices are down, and the days on the market have increased.
Currently there are 7 Single Family Rockland Homes For Sale with an Average asking price of $ 1,827,828 ranging in price from $849,900 for a home on Royal Terrace Ave and up to $2,995,000 for a home on St. Charles.

History of Rockland, The neighbourhood was founded as, and remains, one of the tonier neighbourhoods in the city, and contains a notable concentration of opulent houses and heritage architecture and lush gardenscapes. The two largest, and most famous, of Rockland's residences are Craigdarroch Castle, built by the Dunsmuir fortune, and Government House.
