What were you doing on September 11, 2001?
Do You recall where and what you were doing that Tragic morning of September 11, 2001.
I was arriving at a home to meet a New Client and Present my CMA.
Upon arrival the home owner greeted me said he was watching the news on his TV and said "a commercial airline had crashed into the world trade center in New York city". By this time News Cameras where photographing the smoking building.
We left the TV on and walked through his home together...then we heard a voice on the TV yelling "there is another plane"...we rushed to the living room and watched a Commercial Airliner Crash into the Side of the other World Trade Center tower...we were in shock, and both of us said "I wonder if it was real", unfortunately it was very real and thousands died that morning of September 11, 2001.
These type of events stay in your mind with you forever...I also rember where I was when John F Kenedy was shot in Dallas.
Lets all have a moment today to reflect our thoughts and prayers for those families and friends that lost a loved one on Sept 11, 2001 and any other time in history.
Post here where and what you were doing this Tragic Day.
Cheers

Well spoken and very touching. Let us never forget what took place on that tragic day and to all those that were lost. :)
I was just preparing to walk out the door at home when I seen the smoke from the first tower. I too could hardly believe what I was seeing, and then the other plane appeared. I sat down and watched the impact to the second tower. I called my office, and told our receptionist what was happening, and to not plan on seeing me very soon. I remained glued to the TV ALL day and well into the evening. It was a horrific trance I will never forget!
Hi Kim...This Day is not something we will all forget any time soon.
Cheers
Hi Fred~ I remember that day as clear as if it were yesterday. I remember waking up to an early morning thunderstorm which was very odd for Northern California. I was getting up to get my son ready for 1st grade, when my huisband who was already at work called and told me to turn on the news.
I was shocked, stunned and horrified at what unfolded, and don't think I had ever been so frightened for so many innocent people who lost their lives and their families in such an overwhelming tradegy. It changed us as a country forever, and I'm not so sure that the terrorists didn't do just what they set out to do...divide us.
I pray today for the families of the victims, as well as for our great country. God Bless,
Laura~
Hi Randy...the Same with me, it was hard to beleive what had happened that morning.
Cheers
I was buying a cup of coffee and the barrista told me about it, then I heard the story on the radio in the background.
Fred - I was on my way to pick up a friend who's car was being serviced and heard the first reports on the radio that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. When I walked into the waiting area at the service station, I watcched in horror as the second plane struck. I have never forgotten the tragedy of 9/11, the bravery of the firefighters, policemen and port authority workers. My heart breaks not only today but everday for the families and friends of the innoncent Americans whose lives were lost that day. May God Bless them and our wonderful troops who continue to be in harms way defending our country against the terrorists who attacked on that day.
Fred, I was at an appointment for my mother. Unfortunately, no one knew about it and we didn't even hear until about 10:30. I went to pick up my children from school just to get them home.
Hi Fred ~ I was at our state's real estate convention. I remember when they came in during the first session and told us what happened I assumed they meant a little private plane or traffic helicopter.
MSNBC ran the entire coverage from the Today Show on 9/11/01 this morning at parallel time - as though it were that morning. It was so powerful and moving to see it unfold from the vantage point of what we learned later. I was so grateful that they ran it - for hours, uninterrrupted.

Though they stay in our minds forever, I wish there was a way to erase them and go back to the life and freedoms we had before that day!

Hi Todd...you know what.... these events do not dominate our thoughts, they are only there when we ask to recall them, something like being in a folder of our Hard Drive...The Positive events in our life are usually in our conscious mind..our Brains Ram Memory.
Everyone like the Positive things that happen in life...so why do we do Negative Stuff to one another.
Cheers, have a great day Todd :O)
Fred: I remember and I wondered if my son who was 21 at the time remembered so I called and asked him. He remembered exactly where he was and how the morning unfolded. We were actually together at my house in the mountains about to go out for the day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lakes when I switched on the TV one last time. The first plane had hit the tower and the media wasn't sure what had happened. I thought it was a new action movie but then it really didn't take me long to realize that America was under attack. The America I had known was forever changed. We must never forget.
Hi Donna...These Times get carved in our Minds, and are easily recalled when we think about these moments in our past.
Cheers
Fred - my sister's partner, who is an Emergency Doctor, went down there with other physicians from Canada - some of them are still having breathing problems! So our family will never forget that day.
Hi David...Wow, you'll never forget 911, your family was very close to the event and fall out of this day in history.
Thanks for dropping by:O)
