SPEECHLESS SUNDAY...It Never Snows in Victoria...Right !

IT NEVER SNOWS IN VICTORIA...RIGHT !!

This Winter in Victoria not only has it been Sunny most of the Winter, but we have not has any Snowfall. March Started and we all thought, That's it Spring is Here, heck the flowers are everywhere.

Then Last Friday Morning, I glanced out my home office Window and to my Surprise... It was Snowing, and it was coming down in Huge Flakes and thick.

I grabbed my Casio Camera and went to my Back Sun Deck and to a take Video of this great event.....as I knew I was seeing something that we might not see again for a very long time...in fact this all stopped in about 15 minutes.

What's Funny is, we only seem to get Snow except when it's at freezing level, I Checked and it was exactly 32 degrees outside, That's 0 C for us Canadians.

Have a Great week...

HAVE YOUR BEST YEAR EVER IN 2012 !

Fred - I can remember one year (when we lived in Markham) after opening up our swimming pool early we went away for the 24th of May week end and when we came home there was 4 inches of slushy snow floating on top of our pool.

Hi Fred, Not snowing in Victoria  or any part of the north of us in Canada would be news to most. Seeing it snow , had we known it usually does not snow in Victoria would be considered unusual. A cool post ( no pun intended) and you did great with the video cam.

I know you guys had a problem with snow when it came to the Olympics this year as well, we were freezing down here and you were warm... What is up with that?

Hi Barrie...wow that would be a shock here. When does Winter end there and Summer kick in?

Hi Arlene....No Problem, they just trucked snow from one area to another...seldom gets below Freezing here, we have the Pacific Ocean surrounding us, which is 50 degrees year round heating or cooling the air around Vancouver Island.

Fred-  Snow is fun!!!

We just had the biggest storm ever dump 7 inches of rain in 24 hours, with 70 mph winds.  Needless to say, we have tons of trees down. no power for probably 5 days, no internet, no phone, etc.....   I finally got out our road after three days to get to the office and a computer!    It'll be awhile for us.

Now, the point of all of this, is to say, "Thanks to those above that it wasn't snow!  I think they say that each inch of rain equals 10 inches of snow ......

Fred:  We've had more than our share of snow this winter.  Last count, kids had missed 11 days of school.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get one more before old man winter bows out.

Great shot Fred, we have had a great winter here in old T.O. as well.  If this is how winter is going to be from now on, bring it on! but only after we have enjoyed a beautiful Spring and sunfilled summer.

Wow - I remember one year when we had snow in Phoenix!  It didn't stick, but it was a sight!   But, no snow of us this year...its 84 in Phoenix/Chandler today, that's 29 Celsius.

Hi Al and Peggy...Remember the Snow & Rain brings Water for us..in Victoria we do not have a snow capt that melts to supply us with our drinking water, we have a huge damed storage past Sooke(20 miles away) that  catches and stores or Drinking water. Yes Bring on Awesome Springs and Summers :O)

Hi Dora and Vincent...29 is a good number, must be hard to work, the temptation would be to go and play.
